War-dated partly-printed DS, signed “Ben. E. Roper,” one page, 4.25 x 2.25, February 23, 1864. Tax receipt given to Mrs. Mary Jones for five dollars “in Confederate Treasury Notes, being the full amount of Confederate Tax due by him for the year 1863.” Signed at the conclusion by the district tax collector.
