In part: "I am ready to wait for the decision of the publisher…The Christmas cards interest me, specially on account of being in the good company of painters such as you mention, but the only trouble is to have to do the sketches without knowing the results…The most difficult part of it is to imagine and do the composition for the painting. The actual price for my sketches are around the amount you announce as the possible advance, which make it difficult to risk the work without being sure of the profit obtained by it.
