Highly regarded American guitarist and composer (1943–1981), a member of the original Butterfield Blues Band; a frequent collaborator with Bob Dylan, he died of a heroin overdose at the age of 37. DS, signed “Michael Bloomfield,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, May 10, 1973. American Federation of Musicians contract between Bloomfield, Mark Naftalin, and the Rivoli Theater in Indianapolis, Indiana for a June 2, 1973, concert. In part: “Wages agreed upon $2,000.00 plus 60% GDR over $6,000.00.” The contract itemizes the equipment to be provided by the promoter including drums, bass, snare, Steinway piano, Fender twin reverb amp, and a Hammond B-3 organ.
