Austrian-born psychoanalyst (1888–1969) who studied with Freud and became best known for his research into the psychiatric aspects of masochism, criminology, literature, and religion. Two items: 1959 ALS on personal letterhead sending thanks and responding to a collector’s request; and a large ballpoint signature, 'Theodor Reik, New York, May 26, 1959,' on an off-white 8.5 x 2.25 slip (evidently originally enclosed with the letter). Folds to each item (lightly touching signatures), and light wrinkling and area of toning to blank portion of letter, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
