Four items: an FDC with a cachet honoring the US Marine Corps and the Battle of Iwo Jima, signed on the front in fountain pen, 'Joe Rosenthal, A. P.'; an envelope signed in blue ink, 'John H. Bradley Pt M 2/c'; and two postally used envelopes, each postmarked 1945 and individually signed by Rene A. Gagnon and Ira H. Hayes (who has filled in his return address in the upper left corner). Each envelope bears a three-cent US postage stamp showing their Iwo Jima flag-raising, one of the world’s most famous photographs taken by Rosenthal. In overall fine condition, with uniform block of toning at the lower right corner of Hayes’ envelope. RRAuction COA.
