American writer (1850–1895) best known for his poems of childhood, including ‘Wynken, Blynken, and Nod’ and ‘Little Boy Blue.’ ALS, one page, lightly-lined, 5.25 x 5.25, August 12, 1890. Short letter to Low’s Exchange. In part: 'Will you kindly let Mr. Kern, the bearer, have whatsoever mail may be at your exchange for me? And please let me know what Nat Goodwin’s hotel address is. My health has been much improved by a visit to Germany.' Double matted and framed with a color portrait to an overall size of 12.25 x 18.25; the frame back bears the printed label and red wax seal of noted dealer Charles Hamilton. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, and a few light creases. RRAuction COA.
