Naval officer and member of the Sons of Liberty who participated in the Boston Tea Party. Partly-printed DS, signed “Tho: Melvill,” one page, 8 x 4.5, October 10, 1796. A certificate for the importation of fifty-four gallons of Claret wine on the Brig Nancy commanded by E. Kempton. Signed at the bottom by Melvill as port inspector.
