Popular Austrian composer (1870–1948) of ‘light’ classical music, best known for his operetta, ‘The Merry Widow.’ Three ALSs on postcards, one TLS on a postcard, and a signed and inscribed photo, all in German. Letters are to tenor Lothar Riedinger, whom Lehár reports about his concert tours. A selection of the text reads, in part (translated): “Dearest friend! I hope to be in January in Vienna again to conduct the performance of the Lustige Witwe and Eva”; “Dearest friend! Yesterday I conducted the concert Giuditta! It was a huge success. Today again Giuditta. On the 6th concert in Berlin.”; and “Dearest friend! I can hardly tell you how glad I am to think about my work after suffering for so long. I am glad that you have the chance to recover.” In very good overall condition. RRAuction COA.
