French composer (1819–1880) best known for his popular stage works, most notably ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’ (including the famous “Can-Can”) and ‘The Tales of Hoffmann.’ Unsigned handwritten musical manuscript on two adjoined 9.25 x 12 off-white musically lined pages. In ink and pencil Offenbach pens approximately 100 bars of music to an unknown composition. In very good condition, with scattered toning and foxing, a few bars in pencil several shades light, but still legible, and scattered edge wear and creasing. RRAuction COA.
