Description

Max Reger

Prolific German composer (1873–1916) best known for his densely contrapuntal, Bach-inspired keyboard works. ALS in German, signed “Reger,” one both sides of a 3.5 x 5.5 postcard, no date, but postmarked April 10, 1912. Letter to Professor Waldemar Meyer. In part: “For next winter I have already so many engagements for the Meininger Hofkapelle that I cannot accept any other engagements for the coming winter. As you can see, things are going well!—once I have fulfilled all the promises that I have to take care of here, you will have to be a soloist for me! Every year one violinist!” In fine condition, with light show-through from postmark. RRAuction COA.
