Original signed ballpoint self-portrait caricature on a 5 x 3 card. At the top Sendak writes, “Alas, I have no photograph—you must do with this self-portrait,” underneath which Sendak has done a caricature of himself as one of the characters from Where the Wild Things Are, signing under the image, “Maurice Sendak, Oct. 29, 82.” In fine condition, with a few light surface creases, and a thin line of toning along left edge.
