William Schuman, 1943 Pulitzer for Secular Cantata No. 2, A Free Song. Two items: 8 x 10 photo signed in black felt tip; and AMQS on one page of lined music paper, 8 x 3.75, dated August 11, 1987, a few notes of an unidentified work, signed under the quote.

Howard Hanson, 1944 Pulitzer for Symphony No. 4, Op. 34. AMQS on an off-white, 5 x 3 card. One bar of music, signed and inscribed under the quote, “Introduction to the opera ‘Merry Mount.’”

Aaron Copeland, 1945 Pulitzer for Appalachian Spring. Black felt tip signature and inscription on a 5 x 3 card.

Walter Piston, 1948 Pulitzer for Symphony No. 3. Blue ink signature and inscription on a 5 x 4 slip.

Norman Dello Joio, 1957 Pulitzer for Meditations on Ecclesiastes. AMQS on one page of lined music paper, 8.5 x 3.25, two lines of music entitled “Meditations” at the top of the page and signed under the quote.

Samuel Barber, 1958 Pulitzer for Vanessa and 1963 Pulitzer for Piano Concerto No. 1. Program page signed and inscribed in pencil.

Elliott Carter, 1960 Pulitzer for Second String Quartet and 1973 Pulitzer for String Quartet No. 3. ANS on one page of lined music paper, 8.75 x 5.5, signed in red felt tip, stating he has sold all of his manuscripts and “hence cannot legally comply with your requests.”
