Two items: vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Penney sitting in a chair, signed in white ink, “J. C. Penney, 6/26-52”; and a one page TLS, signed “J. C. Penney,” dated June 25, 1952, acknowledging the photo and reading, in part: “I was very glad to note that you read my autobiography…My purpose in writing this book was to make available to others the helpful lessons I had learned in my rather full life.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
