Limited edition flight-flown FDC, 9.5 x 4.25, with a cachet honoring Chuck Yeager’s 50th anniversary of the first supersonic flight, #147/1000, signed on the front in pencil by pilot Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover (the chase pilot for the record-breaking flight), and General Robert “Bob” Cardenas (who was the officer in charge of the Mach 1 team and pilot of the B-29 that dropped Yeager in the X-1 on all the test flights, including the day of breaking Mach 1). This cover was carried through Mach 1 on board the F-15 piloted by Yeager on the 50th anniversary of the flight over Edwards Air Force Base on October 14, 1997. In very fine condition.
