American golfer (1892–1969) who won eleven professional majors, a record surpassed only by Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. Over the course of the career, he won two U.S. Open titles, and, in 1922, became the first American to win the British Open, which he would win a total of four times. Vintage ballpoint signature and inscription, “To Michael J. Gerstley, Golfingly, Walter Hagen, 1965,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card with a five-cent postage stamp affixed at the center.
