Austrian-born banker, philanthropist, race horse owner, art collector, and member of the prominent Rothschild family of financiers and businessmen (1827–1905) . Two undated ALS in French, signed “A. de Rothschild,” each on art-related matters. Accompanied by an LS in another hand signed “H. Rothschild & Co.” and two printed death notices, one for Alphonse de Rothschild, the other for Emmanuel Leonino (a Rothschild in-law).
