TLS signed “Faithfully yours, Carl Sandburg,” one page, 5.5 x 8.5, June 22, 1961. Sandburg writes to collector Lionel Aucoin. In full: “Very definitely the two beautiful little miniature books arrived in my hands safely. As I recollect I returned a five dollar bill with a request for the two miniature books. Now I find six typewritten copies of poems of mine which I have autographed and am herewith sending to you. I do not recollect a five dollar bill being enclosed with these six typewritten copies, but if you say so, your word is good with me. If you will send me two more miniature books, I will on their arrival to my hands send you a five dollar bill. There are always going to be blessing rather than grudges as between you and me….” Accompanied by a strip of five unused Sandburg postage stamps. In very fine condition. RRAuction COA.
