Roosevelt has boldly signed the frontispiece gravure photo, which features him in his Rough Rider uniform; the signature is further authenticated by the printed tissue guard, which notes that the photo is “signed in autograph.” The book, a combined edition of two of Roosevelt’s earlier volumes on hunting, is illustrated throughout with original etchings and engravings by such notable artists of the day as Frederic Remington, A. B. Frost, and others. Rubbing and soiling to covers, mild soiling and toning to interior (lightly affecting margins of photo), and light marginal creases to photo along gutter, otherwise fine condition.
