Prominent German Jewish philospher (1729–1826) and grandfather of composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Unsigned manuscript in Mendelssohn’s hand, in German and Hebrew, 6.75 x 9.75, eight pages on four sheets, evidently a translation of or commentary upon the Book of Jeremiah. In good to very good condition, with scattered soiling, staining (touching portions of text) and a few tears with tape repairs. RRAuction COA.
