Slight, sad-looking character actor (1935–1978) best known for his screen debut as Fredo, the weak-willed son of Don Corleone, in Francis Ford Coppola's classic The Godfather. His final screen appearance prior to his death from cancer was in another of the most iconic films of the 1970s, Michael Cimino’s The Deer Hunter.
