Description

Thomas Edison

Two items: 1) ALS in pencil, signed “Edison,” one lightly lined page, 5 x 8, January 29, 1923. Edison writes to his employee [Karl] Ehricke. In full: “Neill’s rating shows of the 17 old numbers from catalogue 30% were rated bad. This is rather high. Haven’t they been run more than 40%?” 2) ANS in pencil at the foot of a letter from Ehricke, signed “E,” the original letter dated March 3, 1921. In response to Ehricke’s comments regarding quality control for record moulds, Edison writes: “If this is so how do you explain the violent disparity between your ratings for Folsom & girls’ rating. I did not refer to these 3 prints but to Folsom sheet, where you rated several.” Accompanied by two related pencil ALS by Ehricke. Toning and light handling wear, otherwise fine condition.
