ALS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, December 24, 1854. Letter to his manager T. J. Serle. In part: “I doubt the expediency of moving in this matter, because I doubt the possibility of confining the movement to men whose grateful recognition would be…acceptable. I have not the opportunity of sounding Foster, for he is out of town for Christmas week; but I have a strong belief that he would feel as I do. Your letter reached me only last night; I have been away since Tuesday morning; if I had been in town; I would have answered it immediately.” In fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
