Bill Veeck

Longtime owner of the Chicago White Sox, he signed the first black player in the American League. An unabashed promoter, he was responsible for the exploding scoreboard at Comiskey Park in Chicago, and in 1952 he sent a midget, Eddie Gaedel, to bat in a game for the Browns. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. Ballpoint signature, “Bill Veeck,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card.Encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder. In very fine condition.
