TLS as president, one page, 6 x 8, White House letterhead, March 29, 1930. Hoover writes to the Governor of Illinois. In part: “Under direction of the Secretary of Commerce, arrangements are being made for a Third National Conference on Street and Highway Safety to be held about the end of May…. It is desired to invite official representation of the states interested in the important problems of motor traffic. I accordingly extend to you a cordial invitation to send to this Conference five delegates from your state including, if possible, representatives of your motor vehicle department or bureau, your highway department, and others acquainted with the legal and administrative aspects of the traffic problem….” Matted and framed with a photo and a bronze portrait medallion to an overall size of 16.75 x 32. Mild handling wear (two pinholes), faint show-through from docket on reverse, and a few tiny spots, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Oversized.
