Description

A bold prediction

Hall of Fame first baseman and power hitter (1907–1967), nicknamed Double X and the Beast, who was the second major leaguer to score 500 home runs, a milestone he reached at the age of 32. Vintage ink signature, “‘Jimmie’ Foxx, Phila. Athletics, World Champions 1929 and 1930 (I hope), Oct. 2, 1930,” on a pale green 6 x 4.25 album page. On the day of signing, the Athletics won the second game of the 1930 World Series; less than a week later, they won the Series in Game 6. Mild toning and a few subtle wrinkles, faint intersecting folds (touching one digit of “1929”), and 1″ tear to left edge (away from writing), otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
