Document addressed to baseball commissioner Ford Frick “requesting permission to play in two exhibition games, one in Jersey City on Oct. 14th and one in Syracuse on Sunday, Oct. 16th,” as a member of the Roger Maris All Stars. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Roger Maris, as well as Elston Howard, and Whitey Ford, signing as “Ed Whitey Ford.” Accompanied by two other manuscript documents to Frick, both from Bob Cerv, requesting to manage the team or to replace the injured Howard.
