In part: “Natasha [Gregson Wagner, Wood’s daughter] must be the luckiest little girl in the world! I’ve never seen anything so pretty as those two divine dresses…. And the basket with the tiny teddy she also loves because she still has and loves her favorite teddy with the pink sweater which you gave her when she was as tiny as Courtney!… She was really thrilled & it was all much better than having them on her birthday! Thank you so much—I don’t know how you found the time with all you’ve been doing…. Our postman was terrific & had figured everything out with the help of the neighbors who said they though it must be for ‘those movie stars’ who were about to move in! Have you heard about poor Mia [Farrow, Gordon’s co-star in Rosemary’s Baby] & her awful operation?… She had a ruptured appendix & almost died! I hope she’s better now—I had the feeling she was missing the U.S.A. a lot when we saw her here so maybe she’ll be moving too.
