Description

“We’re also going to work in August doing a terrific script by Barbara Turner. It’s called ‘Love Song.’”

Charming film star who mysteriously drowned in 1981. ALS signed “Natalie,” one page both sides, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 22, 1973. Letter to her friend Ruth Kanin [Gordon] on Martha’s Vineyard, updating her on her travel plans and work load. In part: “Mart [Crowley] has a guest house & we’re coming to be his guests…However R. J. insists this is our third honeymoon so Natasha can’t come with us…Then we will probably rent a beach house or maybe stay at Veronique & Greg’s [Gregory Peck] as they’ll be in Europe. Then back to Palm Springs in mid-September when (hopefully) the house will be totally remodeled. We’re also going to work in August doing a terrific script by Barbara Turner. It’s called ‘Love Song.’ (She wrote ‘Petulia’) & Gil Cates is directing us—it’s for a movie of the week TV & also a feature film which we own…to be released theatrically in the rest of the world. I also love it cause it’ll be filmed in 3 1/2 weeks!!” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Wood’s hand. Love Song was retitled to The Affair and released in 1973. In fine condition. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
