Signed and inscribed in ink on a front blank, “To Albert D. Lasker from your friend, Henry Ford, Feb. 11, 1928.” Lasker (1880–1952), a leading figure in the history of American advertising, was credited with the invention of the soap opera (developed principally as an advertising medium), oversaw Warren G. Harding’s successful presidential campaign, and owned the Chicago Cubs before selling to William Wrigley, Jr. in 1925. In very good condition, with light rubbing to extremities, early marginal cloth tape reinforcements to front and rear blanks, front hinge cracked, and light scattered toning and staining.
