Manuscript DS, signed “J. P. Benjamin,” one 7.75 x 12 page affixed to a slightly larger piece of mat board, July 28, 1838. A legal petition in a case involving non-payment of a debt. In addition to signing, Benjamin has added an endorsement related to the case. In good condition, with mounting as noted, separations at folds (tape stains from repairs to reverse), light show-through of ink, and scattered small tears and chips. The signature is dark and otherwise unaffected. R&R COA.
