Queen Consort of George VI and mother of Elizabeth II (1900-2002). Three Christmas cards (1972, 1974, 1975) featuring photos of the Queen Mother in various settings, each signed “from Elizabeth R.” According to the consignor, the original recipient was William Tallon (1935–2007), the well-known “Steward and Page of the Backstairs” for Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, for five decades. As the longest-serving servant in Elizabeth’s household, Tallon was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal (Silver) in 1975 and the Royal Victorian Medal (Gold) in 2001.
