TLS signed “Clayton Moore, The Lone Ranger,” one page, 7.5 x 11, personal letterhead, May 12, 1998. Moore tells a fan about the death of Jay Silverheels. In part: “I told his wife I wanted to see him. She said, ‘He is not very well, Clayton, I don’t know if you would like to see him like that’…He looked so bad. It was terrible. I leaned over to him and said, ‘Jay, this is Clayton. Keep on fighting. We all love you.’…He passed on March 5, 1980…I miss Jay Silverheels a lot …We had an unbreakable bond of friendship from the first day I shook his hand in the spring of 1949 in the office of George Washington Trendle.” In fine condition.
