Thomas Melvill (1751–1832), a naval officer and member of the Sons of Liberty, participated in the Boston Tea Party; Benjamin Lincoln (1733–1810) was a major general in the Continental Army. Partly printed DS, signed “T. Melville and B. Lincoln,” one page, 9.25 x 5, August 13, 1802. A certificate for the importation of one hogshead of rum on a vessel commanded by Cornelius Coolidge.
