Original copy of the 1958 Lucky Bag, the annual for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, hardcover, 9.5 x 12.25, 712 pages, signed later in black felt tip on the reverse of the front free end page, “The best years of my life! John McCain.” McCain is pictured in a photo on page 496. His biographical sketch notes that he is “better known as Navy’s John Wayne,” that “his prowess as an athlete was almost above reproach,” and that he “looks forward to a long and successful career in the Navy.” In very good condition, with light wear and rubbing to covers, front hinge cracked (though still mostly attached), and a touch of mild scattered staining and soiling.
