ALS, one page, 7.75 x 9.75, May 15, 1851. Tyler writes to William C. Green, secretary of the Franklin Lyceum in New York. In part: “I have duly received your letter … announcing to me my appointment as honorary member of the ‘Franklin Lyceum.’ For this mark of respect I am under obligations to the members of your association, and accept the appointment with pleasure….” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered staining (very slightly touching first name) and tape remnants, and small losses to two corners (repaired tear to left margin).
