Description

Eminent British evolutionary biologist (1887–1975) and brother of writer Aldous Huxley. ALS on a 5.75 x 10.5 (open) airmail form, June 9, 1970. Huxley writes to Eric Engstrom in Long Beach. In part: “Thank you for your letter & the brochure about the Queen Mary…. As a writer, I am sorry to see that you spell night ‘nite.’ This destroys all reference to the Germano-Saxon origin of the word—nacht. It is customary when writing for autographs to enclose international vouchers for return postage. However, I am appending an autograph that you can use below….” After signing, Huxley has added at the bottom of the sheet, “For Mr. Eric Engstrom, Julian S. Huxley, June 9th, 1970.” In fine condition, with small edge tears and chips from opening, and a few wrinkles, no faults affecting the signatures. R&R COA.
