Description

Dutch-American aircraft manufacturer (1890–1939) who, among other innovations, designed the Fokker Dr. I triplane, the plane made famous by “Red Baron” Manfred von Richthofen, and the synchronization gear that allowed the firing of a machine qun through the spinning propellor of combat aircraft. Airmail postal cover with a stamped cachet commemorating the Second Annual All American Aircraft Show at Detroit, April 6–14, 1929, 6.5 x 3.5, boldly signed in pencil “Fokker.” The cover has been addressed in ink in another hand. Mild soiling and handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
