Description

Popular soul and R&B singer-songwriter (1939–1984) who was one of Motown’s most successful artists during that label’s heyday in the 1960s and 1970s, recording such hits as “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” A day before his 45th birthday, Gaye was shot and killed by his own father during an argument over a business matter. Trouble Man soundtrack album signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint in the foldout portion, “To Ree Ree & her mother, God bless you both, Yours in peace & love, Marvin Gaye ‘73.’” In very good condition, with moderate ring of wear to cover and inside foldout, some scattered light surface loss to top edge, scattered creasing to edges, and an old tape strip along bottom edge.
