Description

ALS signed “M. Van Buren,” 7.75 x 10, August 8, 1831. Van Buren writes to the Reverend B. Sprague. In part: “It will give me sincere pleasure to comply with your wishes, as well in respect to the autographs, as the parcel you desire to send to England. If I have the letter, any time, before the 16th instant, it will be in season. Mr. Butler comes down in a day or two & will cheerfully take charge of it for you. Accept my thanks for the friendly sentiments you have expressed and believe me to be very sincerely yours….” Intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold to “B”), a few light creases and wrinkles, and a touch of mild soiling and handling wear, otherwise fine condition.
