Description

“It will not be an imposition but a pleasure to find you on my doorstep”

American writer who, drawing on the bedtime stories he told to his son, published 54 books of stories for children, many featuring a cast of animals with human names and behavior. TLS, one page, 6 x 7, personal letterhead, July 5, 1962. Very polite letter to a collector. In part, “It will not be an imposition but a pleasure to find you on my doorstep with books to be autographed. I won’t promise too good an autograph. Age is making the hard working hand a bit shaky.” Intersecting folds, one through first name of signature, a couple edge dings and creases, and a touch of mild toning, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA. RRAuction COA.
