Massachusetts lawyer (1731–1814) who served as one of the prosecutors of British soldiers during the Boston Massacre trial; he later signed the Declaration of Independence. Large, bold ink signature, “Rob. Treat Paine,” on a 3.25 x 2 slip clipped from a document dated January 7, 1811, and affixed to a 4.75 x 7.5 sheet together with a portrait engraving.
