ALS signed “H. Hoover,” two pages, 5.75 x 8.75, no date. Hoover writes to “My dear Friend.” In full: “I am sorry not to see you again before you go abroad. I am always indebted to you for those kindnesses of life that makes [sic] this world worth while. Don’t go bumming around Europe while the coal supply is cut off & catch cold!…” According to the consignor, the original recipient was publisher Melville Stone (1848–1929).
