American composer (1900–1984) best known for such standards as “That’s Entertainment!,” “They’re Either Too Young or Too Old,” and “You and the Night and the Music.” Early AMQS on an ivory 8.75 x 3.75 sheet of manuscript paper, two measures from “You and the Night and the Music,” signed and inscribed, “To Lionel A. Aucoin with the best wishes, Arthur Schwartz, Sept. 20, 1939.” Small smudge in first measure, otherwise very fine, clean condition. R&R COA.
