Description

TLS as president, one page, 8 x 10.5, White House letterhead, April 5, 1941. FDR writes to Representative H. P. Fulmer. In part: “In view of the interest which you demonstrated in S. 2635 … a bill which would have extended to cotton the system of Federal crop insurance now applied to wheat, and your disappointment that I found it necessary to return this bill to Congress without my approval, I am now enclosing a copy of a letter which I have today sent to the Secretary of Agriculture outlining my present views on the subject….” Stapled to the letter in an unsigned copy of the letter to which FDR alludes. In very good condition, with paperclip and staple rust stains to top margin, faint stains elsewhere, mild soiling and wrinkling, and subtle brush to last name. The signature is otherwise dark, bold, and unaffected. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
