Chip off the old tire

American inventor (1800–1860) whose development of the vulcanization process revolutionized the rubber industry and had a direct and far-reaching effect on other manufacturing enterprises, from shoe heels to automobile tires. Bank check, 6.5 x 2.25, filled out in another hand and signed by Goodyear, payable to his son, William Henry Goodyear, for $30.00, April 16, 1860. Charles Goodyear died less than three months later, on July 1. Toning to top and left edges, faint vertical crease to first name, and clean cut cancellation well away from signature, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
