Revolutionary War soldier, lawyer, senator, and vice president under Jefferson (1756–1836), probably best known for mortally wounding Alexander Hamilton in a duel on July 11, 1804. Bank check, approximately 7 x 2.5, filled out and signed as “A. Burr,” payable to himself for $75.00, March 12, 1800. In very good condition, with a few creases, ink cancellation and cut cancellations with a few chips and tears (away from signature), and light wrinkling and toning. The signature is dark and clear.
