Description

Signer of the U.S. Constitution from Pennsylvania (1749–1822) who also ran unsuccessfully as the Federalist vice-presidential candidate in the 1812 election. ALS, 7.25 x 12, November 29, 1756. Ingersoll writes to John Ray on a financial matter. In part: “You must know my usual Custom in collecting debts when there is a suit is to pay myself out of Cash which the process Draws…. You are pleased to mention your willingness to entrust me with what business you have of the kind in the Govt. provided….” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, and scattered light soiling and staining, and a few small holes, no faults affecting the signature.
