Description

Popular big band leader (1904–1944). In 1942, Miller joined the U.S. Air Force and organized the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band to entertain the troops. In December 1944, on a flight from England to Paris, the plane Miller was traveling in disappeared over the English Channel and was never found. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Miller posing with his trombone, boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mary with every good wish for health and happiness (I hope the spelling is OK), Glenn Miller.” Scattered dings and tiny creases (lightly touching writing; one unobtrusive crease to trombone with two pinpoint spots of skinning), otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
