Hall of Fame charter member

Baseball executive who served as the founder and first president of the American League. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as one of its charter members. TLS signed “B. B. Johnson,” one page, 8.5 x 11, American League letterhead, July 12, 1915. Letter to T. L. Hutson, of the Yankees. In part, “I have the paper Carl B. Jenkins signed, and have asked for a record, providing he should play professional ball at any time, he will contract with the New York American League Club. I have approved both contracts of Robert Shawkey, and they will be mailed to you today.” Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. In very good condition, with slight brush to signature, a few brushes to text, some mild wrinkles, and an even shade of toning. Auction LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
