His many decorations for outstanding skills and extraordinary courage included the Congressional Medal of Honor. Vintage ink signature, “Major Richard I. Bong, U.S.A.A.F.,” on an off-white 3.5 x 1 slip, clipped from a return address, and affixed to the front of an original 7 x 9 Air Force photo. Reverse bears a second clipped ink signature, “Richard I. Bong, 5th Fighter Command,” on an off-white clipped slip, and affixed by tape to reverse. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from PSA/DNA. In fine condition, with light overall toning to both signatures. Rare offering of this American hero. R&R COA.
